What is music therapy?


    Music therapy as an established healthcare profession that uses music to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals of all ages. Music therapy improves the quality of life for persons who are well and meets the needs of all age with disabilities or illnesses.

    Music is used as a tool for facilitating people expression. People will express feelings through music and receive other emotion through music. Clients will express themselves in the safe space. They play music, sing music and music makes them relax. Moreover, music helps people bound together. Therefore music brings a positive feels for people who do music. Singing is an activity that exercises your brain.

    Music activities in music therapy are different from ordinary listening, playing, and singing music. Music therapist use music and musical activities to facilities therapeutic process and achieve the client's goals. All of the music activities and treatments will be given by music therapist. The therapeutic music activities are classified in 2 activities; receptive music and active music. All activities will be given base on client's goals.

What does music therapist do?


    Music therapist is trained to respond spontaneously to each clients' emotions and communications as well as design music interventions for individuals and groups based on client needs and follow up progress. Our mission statement as music therapist is be client centered, improve and enhance our clients quality of life, offer unconditional positive regard, as well as facilitate expression, creativity, and choice making in a variety of ways. To enhance clients self esteem, and to provide of positive experiences in music, and positive social experiences with peers in music too.
